There are plenty of michi-no-eki (roadside stations), but I did wonder what on earth a tabi-no-eki is. So I went to check it out.
This kind of place
A michi-no-eki sits by the road like a rest stop, where you buy souvenirs and grab a meal. This place is sort of an extension of that, except it’s not right by the road but on an inner road, so to speak…

It’s big, busy, and well put together. The restaurant area was nicely done too… I could have just come here instead of going to the soba place…

It was my first time having a round menchi katsu, and it’s a bit awkward to eat, but it tasted good.

Apparently it’s a local winery, and they’ve made it look really nice.
The way back
Yamanashi is basically a basin, so once you cross a mountain this kind of scenery just goes on. It is pretty, I’ll say that…
