Hong Kong Tuna Mandu in Isu

Thanks to Dr. Kim Si-deok, I heard there was a great mandu place in Isu, so I went to check it out.

A place like this

Hongkong chamchimandu.

The name is really unusual, but okay.. fish mandu is delicious when it’s made well, so I had high hopes.

The menu

Reasonable. But when I tried to order takeout, they told me they don’t take cards. Well.. I hardly ever use cash, but I’d come all this way on purpose, so I stopped by an ATM and came back.

Inside

Table setting

I’d planned on takeout, but I ended up just sitting down to eat.

They look delicious and they taste good too. A mild, North Korean sort of flavor, packed full of chives, broth that bursts out and a good thick wrapper — it’s been a while since I had such a satisfying mandu.. But the style is so old-guy that I think it’ll be a love-it-or-hate-it thing..
