It’s not just Gangnam Station: anywhere there are lots of young people, you’ll find izakayas with private rooms, prices that aren’t all that steep, and food that’s decent enough. I wouldn’t go out of my way to look for a place like that, but life doesn’t always go exactly the way I want it to.

Well… it was a private room, but a private room almost entirely taken up by the table. Even so, it does give off a bit of a private feel, so I’d say it works well for something like a date. It was during the COVID period, too…

The portions weren’t much, but it was still decent enough… Only, that night we talked over drinks about all sorts of business plans, and when I woke up in the morning the story had changed… It’s been a long while since anything like that happened to me at this age… it felt like the kind of thing that happens in your twenties, and I just thought, ah, so that’s how it is.
