Choigoya, a bakery in Gunja

There is a well-known bakery in Gunja called Choigoya.. and it closed down a little while ago.. A bit of a shame, but let me leave a record of it..

a place like this

Choigoya

inside

Choigoya

Maybe it is because there is a university nearby, but the place looked nicely put together to suit that kind of mood. I got there late, so there were only a few loaves left and I just grabbed something and walked out.

the lamb-skewer street on the way back

Choigoya

Chinese food really does seem to be having a boom these days.

walnut baguette

Choigoya

There seem to be far too many places doing good bread these days. It makes me wonder whether baking tasty bread is really that easy..

the inside

Choigoya

It has to be packed full like this to be good.

mentaiko baguette

Choigoya

The mentaiko is nice and salty, which makes this the perfect bread to go with a drink. They are good, as expected. Bread that gets the basics right.
