Sakana Bar in Ebisu has opened a second branch in Roppongi. I was curious, so I went to check it out.
The place..
It’s a bit away from the center of Roppongi. Maybe because there aren’t many places like this in Roppongi, it was packed. Needless to say, you’d better book ahead.
Menu
The menu is slightly different from the main branch. Even dishes with the same name turned out to be different.
Beer
Decent. This place’s thing is cheap food and pricey drinks, and the branch follows the same concept.
Carpaccio
Bread
The bread selection is a bit different too, but it tastes good.
Bouillabaisse
This was so different from the main branch that it surprised me..
Grill
Good as a beer snack, but I wouldn’t call it top-notch.
Ajillo
This one is subtly different from the main branch too. The taste isn’t bad, but..
Risotto
A bit of a letdown.
Fish and chips
This isn’t on the main branch’s menu, and it made a great snack with the beer. I had a feeling I couldn’t get fish and chips like this even in England..
The prices are slightly higher than at the main branch, but considering it’s Roppongi, it’s really reasonable. The food isn’t bad either.. and yet, compared to the main branch, it falls a little short.
