Bar Matsutora in Ebisu

I usually share most places I go, but this one I didn’t really want to give away. Still, it’s hard to get to unless you’re a local anyway, so here it is.

A very small sign

I’m sure plenty of people walk right past it without noticing.

The colors are a work of art… You point at whichever snacks you want from these and they grill them over charcoal.

Dried seafood

No need to hold back, just order. I didn’t ask how much it would cost, but it came to about 6,000 yen per person in the end. Very reasonable.

Vegetables

matsutora

These are not grilled over charcoal; they come out cooked.

All at once…

The atmosphere is so nice that it would be perfect for a date, but sadly this time it was two guys…

The bartender grilling over charcoal

Somehow this makes for a wonderful atmosphere.

Kaki no tane

matsutora

Even a trivial snack like this somehow looks classy here.

The snacks that came out

matsutora

They tasted great. Especially the shima-aji…

Mentaiko

matsutora

This one was a bit salty.

Everything tasted good.

Great taste and great style.

It’s such a wonderfully atmospheric bar that I want to go back.
