Toho Sancho is a Chinese restaurant I have been going to regularly lately. It is my default when I just cannot be bothered with anything, so to speak..
The front entrance
It is a very small place.
Today’s lunch
There are about five or six lunch options every day. Of course they will also cook dishes that are not on the lunch menu. It just costs about 100 yen more.
The owner
His voice is always full of energy.
The menu
Meals are the mainstay, but in the evening they also do simple snacks to go with drinks. A good place to stop by for a drink on the way past.
Mapo eggplant
Stir-fried clams and vegetables
Twice-cooked pork (hoikoro)
Stir-fried ham and egg
Chicken fried rice
Chinese-style beef curry bowl
Stir-fried pork
Hiyashi chuka (chilled Chinese noodles)
Chinjao rosu (pepper steak)
Stir-fried pork and garlic chives
Beef bowl
The cooking method is similar for everything: stir-fried hard over high heat and served piping hot. So the flavors are similar too. The portions are not particularly big either. But I like piping-hot food like this, so I never get tired of it and keep going back often. For the time being, I think this place is going to be my go-to for lunch.
