There’s a Dassai store in Ginza. It’s a pretty luxurious place, and you can do tastings too.

What I was after was the Dassai Beyond.

A tasting is 500 yen. For a sake that goes for 30,000 yen a bottle, that’s a fair enough price, I’d say?

They also give you a rice cracker to nibble on. You can probably buy them at the store, but nothing special taste-wise.

I had a glass of the Beyond, and it was just so smooth. A taste so pure you can’t even make out its character, I guess. Delicious, but way, way too expensive, so I’ll settle for the tasting for now.

A fairly fun setup, all in all. The problem is that Dassai is so everywhere these days that it’s starting to feel a bit played out…
