Wandering around Mita one weekend, I came across a bakery that looked promising.
The place, more or less
One side is set up as a café where you can also sit down for a meal.
The bread, more or less
Savory breads, sweet stuff, all sorts of things. Maybe it’s all the high-rise apartment towers in this neighborhood, but the standard is high.
More bread
German-style potato bread, fresh out of the oven
One bite and I thought: this would be perfect with a beer. They really know what they’re doing.
Fig bread
The sweet breads are seriously high-level too
Gâteau au chocolat
Shockingly good. That balance… this is nationally competitive stuff.
Banana, I think…
It was decent.
Shokupan
I’ve been eating shokupan for breakfast a lot lately, so I’ve been collecting loaves from all over. This one isn’t bad either. But there’s a better place nearby, so I doubt I’ll be coming here for the loaf.
Living in Minato has introduced me to a lot of seriously good bakeries. The funny thing is, every one of them has its own personality. Doing the rounds, there’s never a dull moment.
