Somehow I keep ending up with reasons to be around Omotesando. This time I dropped by Toraya Café in the basement of Omotesando Hills.
Interior decoration
Being a long-established house, you can tell they put a lot of care into the decor as well.
Grilled vegetables
I ordered something safe, and it was decent enough. As you’d expect from café food, it was more acidic than it looked. A grown-up taste, I guess… This is why I’m not that fond of cafés, but this time I had no choice…
Soy milk
It was fine, nothing more.
Dessert
A seasonal special, really pretty and it tasted good too. Toraya Café is the kind of place that would appeal to women.
Well fed, I walked around Harajuku and there were a ton of places with lines out front.
Luke’s Lobster roll
Harajuku, peacefully lining up… Meanwhile, back in Korea…
Zojirushi’s ‘ultimate’ rice
Limited to 100 servings a day, they said, and the line here was pretty long too…
Nike
Apparently that was the line for the Air Jordan raffle. No photo here, but the line to buy BIGBANG merch was long too. Japan really is a peaceful country where the otaku live.
Had some time left, so on to Meiji Jingu…
The weather was nice, so I wandered all over. Just walking around Harajuku makes for a full day out.
