Shinkyotei, a Chinese restaurant in Shinbashi, isn’t a particularly special place, but it’s open on weekends, has private rooms and the prices are reasonable, so I used it for a get-together with friends. You shouldn’t expect much from the food, but we had a good time.
Appetizers
Ebi chili (shrimp in chili sauce)
Subuta (sweet and sour pork)
Fried dishes
Stir-fried squid
Soup
Fried rice
Annin tofu for dessert
It’s typical Japanese-style Chinese food, and it was just about okay.
After the meal we took a stroll along Ginza Corridor Street.
Bars
Atmospheric bars just went on and on. Yeonnam-dong doesn’t even come close to this.
Bars
I wanted to pop into any bar that looked good, but I was with a group that day, so I couldn’t. If my office were in Shinbashi, I think I’d be stopping by all the time.
