Hongdae is just easy to get to – or more precisely, it overlaps with my usual routes – so I end up going there a lot. For the same reason I keep wanting to visit Seochon but never manage to. I heard a place making really good curry bread had opened near the old Hongdae railway line, so I went to check it out.
The front
Small, but neat and tidy.
The breads
All of them were delicious. Good value for money, too. Honestly not much different from what I used to eat in Japan. I hope they do well. Or rather, a park is about to go in right there, so with a bit of luck they could really take off. I just hope this time nobody gets pushed out by gentrification. I worry about Mary Kate, Kim Jin-hwan Bakery and the rest as well – Mary Kate has already closed its doors…
