We had a family get-together on the weekend, so I headed to Yeouido. While searching for somewhere to have lunch, a friend recommended Jinjin, so that’s where we ended up. Yeouido being what it is, there aren’t many good restaurants open on weekends. On the flip side, parking is easy and the place is empty and quiet. So even though it’s a long way from home, it was worth the trip.

Pajeon

The food was neat and well put together. Prices were reasonable too. It was a touch on the spicy side, but within acceptable limits.

They’re North Korean style, and they do them well.

The dumplings are tasty, but the broth is the real deal.

I wondered what the difference from manduguk was; turns out the base is the same, it’s just spicier. I should have just ordered the manduguk.

The restaurant is spacious and even has ondol floor seating, but being the weekend nobody was using it, which made it a nice place to visit as a family.

There was some kind of seal show too, but I only half watched it. It was dark, so my photos didn’t come out well either. It’s not that big, but it was fun in its own way. I got my money’s worth out of the ticket.

On a clear day it must look amazing, but it was a bit hazy that day. Still worth seeing, though.

I’ve lived in Seoul for so long, yet this was my first time at the 63 Building observatory. It was well worth the visit.
