Ametsa, Spanish restaurant in Tawaramachi, Asakusa

I had some errands around Kappabashi and was wandering about, and since I had a dinner appointment I visited a popular spot in that neighbourhood. A search on Tabelog turned up one well-rated Spanish restaurant.

I ordered a bottle of Coke too.

Shrimp ajillo

ametsu

It was huge. And the olive oil was so tasty.. impressive that a neighbourhood place does it this well.

Sangria

ametsu

It was low in alcohol and it was a hot day, so it went down very easily.

Onions with sauce

ametsu

I ordered it as a snack to go with the drinks, but it had a rather unusual flavour.

Potato croquettes

ametsu

As a bar snack they were decent enough.

Something like a Korean bindaetteok pancake..

ametsu

Apparently a Spanish dish made with blood, and it was quite a strongly flavoured one.

Not exactly cheap, but it is a place that serves lots of interesting Spanish dishes. I would like to go back again sometime.
