A get-together suddenly came up in Dongdaemun, so I headed out as soon as work was over. The place was Gyeongsangdo-jip, famous for its pork ribs grilled over charcoal briquettes.

They use good ingredients, so the taste is a sure thing. The soju was going down fast. We wrapped up round one lightly, and for round two we dropped by Cargo, a beer bar in Itaewon.

I went because I had heard it was run by the person who imports BrewDog, but apparently someone else runs it now. I had wanted to drink a Hardcore, so that was a bit of a letdown.

Indica IPA

The owner may have changed, but the atmosphere was still fine for a glass of beer. The beer was decent too.

I thought they were ordinary, but the person I was with said they were tasty. Either way, a decent light snack to go with beer.

I had it before moving on to the next stop, and it was as good as ever. It would have been even better with honeycomb instead of honey, but they said it was sold out.

A taxi ride within the base fare took us to Bar Moltar in Hannam-dong.

It seems to be doing really well these days. The bartenders were all as funny as stand-up comedians.

Gimlet

The place is packed with people, and any more would be a problem. Who knew such a popular bar was in Hannam-dong.

Hakushu highball

A clean, crisp highball. I had drunk a lot that day, so I had to pace myself.

I had been living a busy life for a while, so drinking again after so long was a joy. From now on, no matter how busy I am, I should get out for a drink now and then.
