I can’t drink coffee, but lately I’ve been having tea and dessert after lunch more and more often. This day, too, after a big meat-heavy meal I was craving something sweet, so I stopped by Publique.

Raspberry eclair

I ordered it because it looked pretty, and it was tasty with a nice tartness. Publique seems to be above average no matter what they make.

Forêt noire

A cake whose name means “black forest”. Dark cherries and chocolate sat on top of a light, fresh cream. It’s not just the bread here, the cakes are good too.

Korean red bean eclair

This eclair was shot on a different day, but I’m posting it here too. The cream had a subtle sweetness that I liked.

Fresh cream cake from Deux Amis

This one has nothing to do with Publique, but I had nowhere else to post it, so here it is. The only cake you can buy without a reservation is this size, and I thought it looked a bit small, but when we actually ate it, it was just right for four to six people to have a slice each. I guess we’re all getting older.
