Le Chocolat de H, Roppongi

After the soba, I moved on to Roppongi for dessert. Le Chocolat de H is a chocolate specialty shop that Mont St. Clair, the famous patisserie in Jiyugaoka, opened in Roppongi. As you would expect in Roppongi, the atmosphere is every bit as refined as the other high-end chocolate shops like La Maison du Chocolat and Pierre Marcolini, and the chocolate itself is quite good too. Given the hefty prices, that much is only to be expected, though.

Apple juice

They have plenty of kinds of coffee, but no herbal tea.

Stephane

le chocolat de h

Of all the chocolate cakes of this kind, this is my favorite. The thick, piano-black chocolate coating is delicious, but the bottom layer also has nuts that go well with the chocolate, so the texture is great too. This cake is not even available at the main shop, so you have to come to Roppongi to order it. Recently a branch opened in the basement of a place called Shibuya Hikarie, so it seems you can buy it there too..

Mont Blanc

Made with plenty of Japanese chestnuts, very refined.

The Mozart au Chocolat and a new cake

le chocolat de h

I took these home. They are a bit simpler in style than the cakes at the main shop, but still very well made. Even so, the best thing here really seems to be the Stephane, so next time I will probably just focus on that.
