In early December, after casting my overseas vote in Yotsuya, I was wondering where to go for dinner and ended up heading to Le Petit Mec, a bakery in Shinjuku. It is a branch of a famous Kyoto bakery, on the first floor of the Shinjuku Marui department store.

Nice atmosphere. There were lots of tasty-looking French-style breads too.

The breads I bought
The croissant covered in almonds was just sweet enough and delicious. The other breads were good too. Shinjuku has plenty of famous bakeries like Johan and Dominique Saibron, but this place holds its own against them. If you are just after snack breads, this might even be the best of the lot. It had been a while since I had such good bread, and it made for a happy evening.
