These days, whenever I wander around Hongdae, I keep running into restaurants done up like cafés. The mood is stylish, but they sell Korean food and bunsik too. Gomnejip is one of those — a place with a café-style look that serves Chinese food. It stays open until late at night, so it is a good spot for drinking as well.
The standard side dishes
Given that no pickled radish comes out, this really is a “Chinese restaurant” rather than a neighborhood Chinese joint.
Chili shrimp
I had been craving shrimp for the first time in a while, so I ordered this, and it is tasty~
Fried rice
It comes with a fried egg on top — if they were going to do that, they could have given us some jjajang sauce too.. Anyway, it was fried rice with a good smoky wok flavor.
Yangjangpi
The two dishes we had ordered before were not all that big, so we thought we would have one more and ordered this, and out came enough to make both of us burst. If we had ordered just this one thing at the start, we would have been full without ordering anything else. I do not know whether they were being generous or whether it always comes like this, but either way, it was a great meal.
