Namhae Bada is in a slightly awkward spot, but it’s a place where you can get tasty seafood at a fair price. It has always been a satisfying place, and this time a friend came over from Japan to visit, so I called some people together and we had a meal.

Dotbyeongeo (big pomfret) sashimi
It was a bit weaker than the one I’d had before, probably because it’s summer. The only fish that’s really good in summer is mineo croaker, after all.
Spanish mackerel sashimi
This one was just so-so, too..
Mineo jeon
I went back and forth on ordering mineo sashimi and ended up skipping it. With mineo, the stew and the jeon are the tasty parts. The jeon could be a bit thicker, but this place always serves it thin. I don’t have a photo of the mineo stew, and it was just so-so as well. It was the tail end of summer, a time when there’s not really any fish worth eating. From now on the weather gets cold, so it’s time to start eating fish in earnest.
