A lunch meetup came up out of nowhere, so I went along. The Butcher’s Cut is a handmade burger specialist, a sister shop of Smokey Saloon in Itaewon. There’s also a steakhouse with a similar name, Butcher’s Cut, so don’t mix them up.. Apparently this place is famous for its 20,000-won dry-aged Hanwoo burger. But that day they were out of the meat, so they couldn’t serve it… so I ordered the basic 10,000-won burger instead. The photos were taken on an iPhone, so they’re a bit rough.
Fries
They taste like frozen potatoes. Nothing special. And for a burger that costs twice as much as Burger King, it feels a bit skimpy.. The plate is, absurdly, disposable too. I guess they can’t be bothered with the washing up.
Burger
The fillings are much more generous than a regular burger, but the size is ordinary. A bit disappointing considering the price. Still high in calories, I’m sure.
Cross-section
I don’t know if it’s because they use American beef or for some other reason, but it was very dry. It lacks juiciness. The other ingredients are high quality, but going by taste alone, Burger King might actually be better. I’d love for them to benchmark Sasebo burgers a little.
Sprite
No cup, they just hand you the can to drink from.. You must be making a fortune saving on dishes. I’m curious what the 20,000-won dry-aged Hanwoo burger tastes like, but I don’t see myself coming back.
