After a good meal at Kitazawa Club, I was about to head to a café nearby when my friend said we had some time, so why not go somewhere nice. When a friend puts it like that, what can you do? I took us to the best place I know.
The Park Hyatt is on the west side of Shinjuku. It’s quite a way from the station, so it’s a bit of a trek to go out of your way for, but there are lots of offices around there, and apparently it’s always packed at lunchtime.
Photography is basically not allowed at the Delicatessen, so I couldn’t take any pictures inside. (As for the outside, I just forgot.) I’ll have to try again next time I get the chance. There was a really tasty-looking lunch menu for about 1,000 yen. Coffee is 315 yen, on a par with Starbucks. That’s pretty cheap for a neat, stylish café inside a hotel. Sandwiches, cheeses, hams and the like are laid out looking absolutely delicious. The cakes look good too, and the wine list is quite decent. I can see why it’s popular.

Isn’t the color a work of art? ^_^ But for all that color, the taste was just so-so. Next time I’ll have to try something else on the menu.
Berry tart
Oishii~ Oh, this is really delicious.. It comes with a piña colada sauce, and the sauce is tasty too. 700 yen is a bit steep, but it’s worth trying at least once.
Mango tart
This one was oishii~ too. The very best flavor of the season. I couldn’t ask for more.
Eating like this did add up a bit.. but it seems like it’d be fine for two people to order one drink and one cake each and just while away the time, so next time I’ll come when I’m less busy and spend it like that ^_^ And I really, really want to try the lunch too.
