Tenryu-ji in Arashiyama (天龍寺 in kanji) is a temple with such a deep history that it’s registered as a World Heritage Site. I’d heard the autumn leaves in its Japanese garden were gorgeous, so I went in. It’s big and beautifully kept. But maybe because I’ve seen so many stunning Japanese gardens by now, it didn’t move me all that much.
I don’t think it needs much explanation, so just enjoy the photos.

There’s a lot of bamboo in Arashiyama. If I’d come when there weren’t so many people around, the atmosphere would have been really nice.
