Azabu-Juban, where supposedly the wealthiest people in Tokyo live, is packed with foreign embassies.
The Korean consulate is there too, of course. They say any Korean living in Tokyo ends up having to go there at least once,
and only now did I finally have a reason to go.
Since I’d come all the way from Chiba to Azabu-Juban anyway, I couldn’t just head straight back, so I went looking for lunch at this yoshoku place.
The front entrance. Since 1954, so that’s over 50 years of history.. This tiny place has as many as five staff. It hasn’t lasted 50 years for nothing..
I ordered the cheapest thing here, the 1,700-yen lunch set, but it wasn’t much. You get a salad + miso soup with it.

The house specialty, omurice. I’d heard ketchup is the standard for omurice, but this place uses demi-glace sauce..
Looks good, right?? The taste was fine, of course.. but for 1,700 yen it had better be at least this good..

To have a proper lunch here, I think you’d have to pay 2,500 yen. In Ueno half that would do..
Azabu-Juban really is a pricey neighbourhood T_T
