Besides the anpan some people call “Lee Byung-chul bread” (supposedly a favourite of the Samsung founder), Ginza Kimuraya sells loads of different breads.
One of them is this castella. There’s a legend (probably about Kopil) of someone who bought a drink to go with the castella, but once he actually
ate it, it didn’t stick in his throat at all, so he just stood there holding the bottle, puzzled. That’s the kind of
bread it is. It’s well above your average castella, and it isn’t that expensive either, so if you get the chance,
give it a try…
