A Visit to Nagoya Airport

These days I go through Nagoya Airport regularly, but I go so often that there isn’t much left to see… Sigh…

I snapped these on the way there. Nagoya sits on a plain, so the scenery is honestly not bad.

Canadian Morning

Nagoya airport.

This is a travel-goods shop, and I check it from time to time, because they have some genuinely curious travel items. Travel-specialist brands are a different world from everyday brands, and their stores are hard to come by, so a place like this is a nice chance to browse some good brands.

Cotopaxi

Nagoya airport.

It was my first time seeing Cotopaxi here, and the bags really are pretty. The prices, not so pretty…

The North Face

Nagoya airport.

They said it was opening soon, but by the time this post goes up it will have been open for ages already…

LIXIL

Nagoya airport.

The toilet-bowl monaka… I wonder how many people would actually be happy to receive one of these…

Whiskies

Nagoya airport.

Since I only ever fly budget airlines, the duty-free shop doesn’t have much, but here are Taketsuru and Yoichi. You almost never used to see whiskies like these, and now they turn up fairly often.

Hibiki, Yamazaki, Hakushu

Nagoya airport.

Yamazaki too? I was surprised. It feels like something that almost couldn’t happen is happening… if Yamazaki is making it into a tiny duty-free shop like this…

Airfield scenery

Nagoya airport.

It was a late flight, so the sun was setting.

Arrivals duty-free shop

The arrivals duty-free shop has been getting better stocked than it used to be, though looking at the prices it is still a bit more expensive than the departures side. Still, considering the hassle of carrying things around, I think it’s a fair deal.
