A Photo Roundup of Supermarkets and Nuts

Just posting a bunch of leftover photos here.

Songja

Mart and nuts.

I wondered what “songja” was, and it turns out it’s pine nuts. Roasted pine nuts, that is.

Like this..

Mart and nuts.

I bought these out of curiosity because they were way more expensive than the other nuts, but apparently pine nuts are pricey in Korea too. Taste-wise, hazelnuts and the others are perfectly good, so I’m not sure these are worth that kind of money. They’re fine as a snack to kill time, but shelling them is a hassle and they’re awkward to eat, so yeah..

Sunflower seeds

Mart and nuts.

These were ridiculously cheap in China, so I gave them a try. But there are so many flavors. They’re seasoned, which is a bit unusual, but I found myself thinking, “was that really necessary?”

Plain sunflower seeds

Mart and nuts.

On their own they taste a bit plain, but once you get used to them they’re fine. Cheap, too.

Baijiu at a Korean supermarket

Mart and nuts.

They sell Luzhou Laojiao Touqu, and the price isn’t that bad either.

They even sell Wuliangye..

Mart and nuts.

Wait, is this price right? Under 200,000 won? It’s about 130,000 won at duty-free, but hauling it back and forth is a pain, and at this price I’m not sure it’s even worth bothering with duty-free..

Incheon beer..

Mart and nuts.

Seems to be selling pretty well..

Yantai Gaoliang

Mart and nuts.

Looks like it’s popular as ever.

Shin Ramyun x KPop Demon Hunters collab

Mart and nuts.

Just leaving this here for the record. A “this is how things were back then..” kind of thing..
