The National Library cafeteria
The cheapest way to eat your fill around Seorae Village is to use the library’s cafeteria. It’s a buffet for 5,000 won per person.
Oh dear..
I went there often to load up on salad. As you’d expect from the price, the side dishes aren’t anything special.
Artisan Bakers
This place is awkward to visit.. if I buy bread at lunchtime, the smell is strong and I have nowhere to keep it, and if I go in the evening there’s no bread left.. It’s a good bakery, but I never get a chance to go.. Honestly, going to Sweet Park in the evening works out better..
Pork galbi at Sammi Galbi
I go here a lot..
Gan-jjajang at Yeonugung
It’s decent.
Lunch menu at Eoyeppeun Hanwoo
Eoyeppeun Hanwoo is a hanwoo (Korean beef) specialist, but the lunch menu isn’t bad. If you order the chadol (beef brisket) doenjang jjigae, there’s quite a lot of meat in it, so it’s very satisfying.
Side dishes
Clean and simple.
Hanwoo gukbap
This is decent too.
Bread from Lee Sung Dang
Someone brought it back from Gunsan on purpose, so I gave it a try, but it’s just ordinary.
Sundae-guk at Samsam Ppyeoguk
At first I liked it because the portions were big, but they’ve been shrinking, so lately I only order the bone soup.
Mom’s Touch
They said it was a collaboration with chef Edward Lee, and it tasted fine. But I still think Mom’s Touch’s chicken burgers are better.
Samgyetang
There’s a samgyetang place in my neighborhood too, so I had it on one of the dog days of summer. Nice and hot.
