Harbor Scenes of Yaizu, Shizuoka

I had a wander around central Yaizu.

Sake Big

Yaizu minato.

There really are a lot of places like this.

There are carp in there.

Yaizu minato.

Starbucks

Yaizu minato.

It feels like it was built quite recently.

A motsuyaki joint (grilled offal)

Yaizu minato.

Something about it looked good.

The street

Yaizu minato.

A dessert cafe

Yaizu minato.

Yaizu Toy Museum

Yaizu minato.

Turns out there is a museum of picture books and toys for children.

Yaizu Onsen

Yaizu minato.

There is a spot in front of the city hall where you can take a footbath. Look closely and you can find the bonito character that represents the city of Yaizu.

Yaizu Port

Yaizu minato.

At this size, I would guess even deep-sea vessels can come and go.

Harbor view

Yaizu minato.

Harbor view

Yaizu minato.

Lovely atmosphere.

Tom and Jerry, a coffee shop

Yaizu minato.

This one was closed on the weekend too.

Yamachan, famous for its sashimi set meal

Yaizu minato.

It looked like a good place, but it was not open.

A sign with flying fish darting across it

Yaizu minato.

It had real presence, so I took a shot.

Yaizu Porters

Yaizu minato.

It is basically a beer hall sort of place. Looks like they renovated it into a tidy little tourist spot.

The restrooms

Yaizu minato.

The design was really rather cool.

Inside

Yaizu minato.

I could not quite work out what it is for.

Porters Cafe

Yaizu minato.

There is a cafe too, so they seem to have a bit of everything.

Kinmon-en

Yaizu minato.

Probably a Chinese restaurant. The color was so intense that I had to take a picture.

And with that I had a good look around and made it back safe and sound. Even a small provincial town has plenty worth seeing if you take the time to walk it.
