De Soyeong, a Dessert Shop in Wangsimni

De Soyeong is a shop that’s famous on Instagram. They looked like they really knew what they were doing, so I’d had my eye on it for a while.

Macarons

Maybe because they were taking part in an event that day, macarons were all they had, but they normally make cakes as well — it’s a shop with a wide range.

The macarons I bought that day

A Tahitian vanilla macaron and a basil-olive-tomato-strawberry macaron. That really is a lot of ingredients to pack in… but well, the balance of flavours was fine. A shop that’s good is good at whatever it makes. They threw in a caramel as a bonus, too.

The main entrance

I’d assumed it was a tiny shop, but there’s a separate workshop and a separate place to drink coffee — the whole area felt like De Soyeong town. Business seems to be going well, so it doesn’t look like it’ll disappear any time soon, which is a relief, I suppose.

Probably the workshop

Probably the cafe

I’d like to come back for cake when I have some time to spare, but I don’t get many chances to go to Wangsimni.
