Workman, a budget fast-fashion brand, is hugely popular these days, so I went to buy some winter clothes.
Sake no Yamaya
It was near the route there, so I stopped in.
A menu like this
There were plenty of interesting-looking snacks to go with a drink.
Premium Umaibo
I bought this one, and well, it is premium alright, but it wasn’t especially impressive.
Workman
It sits in a slightly out-of-the-way spot.
Clothes like these
They really do sell cheap, sturdy clothes. The styling is plain, but it looks great for wearing around the house. Uniqlo has good design but so-so durability, so I’d say Workman has aimed at that niche rather well.
Clothes
Some of the prices really are about a fifth of Uniqlo’s… brutally cheap.
Clothes
Well… but while this style is fine for work use, it doesn’t have that snug, body-hugging feel. I think Uniqlo clearly sets itself apart from brands like this on comfort.
Anyway, it’s cheap. And sturdy. They bring in products from all sorts of companies so the consistency is lacking, but that’s probably why it’s cheaper still. As long as it fits you well, maybe this is exactly where us middle-aged guys should be buying our clothes.
