Seoryeong is a famous name among foodies. If you ask what you should eat once you’ve gone all the way to Ganghwa Island, this is the first place that comes to mind.
The place
Nice design.
The menu
There’s a long wait, so you can settle on your order while you queue.
Ganghwa Island scenery
I took this while waiting.
Inside
Nice and tidy.
The counter
The kettle
Side dishes
Pretty spare.
Suyuk (boiled pork)
Good quality.
Mandu
The mandu are big and tasty.
Perilla oil memil-guksu (buckwheat noodles)
Weaker than I expected. Both the perilla oil and the noodles. Gogiri seems much better.
Mul-naengmyeon
Somehow the impact is weak. A bit too wholesome, maybe.
Bibim naengmyeon
The sauce is good. Maybe because it isn’t that spicy, this was the one of the three I enjoyed most.
It doesn’t feel like a place worth making a special trip out for, so next time I think I’ll try somewhere else. I even wonder whether it’s worth standing in a line this long.
