I spent the spring of 2023 wandering around the Incheon area. I was curious about which neighbourhoods people live in, and what kind of people they are.
A cat in Cheongna
The layout of this neighbourhood is a little suspicious: there are no homes anywhere near Cheongna station. It seems to be because the landfill site sits so close to the station. Of course, that sort of thing never turns up in a search, so you have no choice but to dig it out yourself.. Korea is a country where everyone fends for themselves..
Luwon City, seen from the Asian Games stadium
The Asian Games stadium seems to double as a park, and maybe that is why so many apartment complexes have gone up around it. But here is the dilemma, if you can call it that: the apartments built in Seo-gu years ago are still sitting there ageing, and that neighbourhood doesn’t look like it has any room to be redeveloped. As for the people who moved in early, betting that Seo-gu would take off…
Apartment blocks
These look like new builds going up, and sites like this are not one or two..
Luwon City
I really do wonder whether building this many apartments is a good idea or not..
The Asian Games stadium
A place like this
Seen from the side
These days it seems to be used as a wedding hall.
The road to Seoincheon
Very country out here. Will the day come when this neighbourhood too is buried under apartment blocks..
Seoincheon High School
There is a high school in this neighbourhood too..
The front
It looks old.

New apartments in Geomdan..
A huge number of units are waiting to go on pre-sale here as well. At half the price of Seoul, people will move in even when they build all the way out here. New apartments come with good shared facilities anyway.
A walking path in Gyeyang
Gyeyang has a long walking path running along the river as well.
A path like this
Evening view
Night view
There were plenty of people out for a walk.

The street
This neighbourhood looks like a good place to live too. When a lot of people live somewhere, some things develop right along with them.
