Everyone recommends the parfait whenever Dessertist comes up, so I figured I ought to try it at least once and headed back again.
Getting ready
The baked confections
The cakes
Maybe because I got there early, but there’s more variety than last time.
The table
Coming on my own meant a counter seat opened up right away, which was nice. Anyone coming on a date would have to wait a bit longer, though.
Strawberry parfait
The parfait apparently changes with the season, but with the crowds pouring in, it looks like they’ve settled on just the one kind. The parfait itself tasted like strawberries and chocolate slammed together, and it was delicious.
Black sesame galette
Maple financier
The baked confections were good too, and I especially learned that financiers taste great even straight out of the freezer… so I can stash financiers alongside tigrés in there, which makes buying them regularly seem like a fine idea.
