Pistache Chocolat
It’s a chocolate from Royce’, and honestly… this turned out to be the best pistachio chocolate around. The pistachio cream is the real deal, but there are whole pistachios studded all through it too, so if you like pistachios there’s no way you can walk past it.
Baby Cheese
The porcini one is pretty good.
Rum raisin chocolate cake
Rich and dense and delicious. Rum raisin is love.
Setsubun lucky beans
They were selling them off cheap, so…
The rich, tasty Tokunou Peach Squash from Mitsuya Cider
It really is that concentrated, which caught me off guard… this one I’d recommend…
Sumire fried potato
I love Sumire, but this one isn’t quite it.
Seven’s raisin sand
It had been a while and I suddenly wanted one, so I bought it, but…
Individually wrapped
Oh… how neat… and the taste absolutely lives up to the name.
Rum raisin Haagen-Dazs
Delicious.
Hazelnut chocolate
Decent enough.
Ume
This one is nothing special.
Tarte Tatin chocolate
It was just about worth eating.
Sumire, the one you pour hot water into twice for the best taste
The price is no joke, but apparently they pushed a cup noodle as far as it will go in recreating Sumire. Above all, the grated ginger comes in a separate packet, so the broth tastes pretty close. That said, even if you soften the noodles once and then pour fresh hot water over them a second time, recreating the piping-hot taste you get at the shop itself isn’t easy. I suspect boiling it like a bag of instant noodles is the right answer.
The phantom potato chips
A limited edition that only shows up in winter, and it’s good.
Santouka potato chips
This one was a big letdown too…
Western-style curry from the delivery curry specialist Yotsuya Aubergine
Hmm… pretty ordinary, really…
Caviar and uni cheese
It didn’t especially taste of caviar or of uni…
Planet chocolates
The taste is ordinary.
Umamusume collab chocolate
The price is outrageous… and there’s not much actually inside. The packaging itself is the merch, I suppose… I bought one Gold Ship.
The stand…
Such a tiny size, which is a shame…
The convenience store’s sanratanmen
It’s a collab with Nangoku Shuka, apparently, and it was pretty good.
Chocoball, rum raisin sand flavour
This one recreates the rum raisin flavour incredibly well too… there must be some fundamental shortcut for reproducing rum raisin cheaply.
Garlic shrimp cup noodles
I bought it because Batman.
Batman…
The taste is fine.
Ichigo no Shizuku Beni Hoppe
Apparently the main shop is in Kanzanji.
Ichigo daifuku
Delicious.
Toppo Rum & Raisin Sand
This one’s good too.
Wakame ramen with no noodles
There is nothing in it but wakame, and there’s a lot of it. Nice that you can cut the carbs.
Melon soda
Ordinary.
Mentaiko ramen
It was decent enough…
Subuta set meal
This one was just about worth eating too…
The Rummy cake from the Ginza Cozy Corner collab
This one was genuinely delicious – I think I’ve been underrating Cozy Corner all this time. The rum flavour was rich. It’s a winter limited edition, so I have no idea whether it’ll come back next year.
Chili Tomato Cup Noodle
The umami with a little heat layered on top makes it, I think, the Cup Noodle best suited to a Korean palate. It’s a quiet masterpiece that only the people who know, know.
Mabo Meshi
Just a nice light thing to eat.
