Tigré Seoul in Yeonsinnae

I go to Tigré Seoul pretty often, and I think the biggest thing about tigrés is how practical they are — buy a few, keep them in the fridge, and they last a long time. They taste good, but when something is easy to store it becomes a lot more useful.

Honestly, if you think about what a tigré traditionally is, this place’s version isn’t the orthodox one — it’s an arranged take on it. But after handing their tigrés out as gifts all over the place, it turns out nobody cares about that in the slightest; they just love them.. Huh.. What was I even worrying about..

There is pie today too.

Chestnut cookie

Tigre seoul

Unlike the tigrés, this cookie is only good if you eat it right away. Do not save it for later.

Walnut pie and apple pie

Tigre seoul

The walnut pie had a lovely balance — packed with walnuts, but never heavy. The apple pie still had a bit of texture left in the apple, and I think it could take a little more colour on the bake.. A scoop of vanilla ice cream on top would probably be nice too..

Tea

Tigre seoul

I think this one was on the house..

Fig tigré..

Tigre seoul

Apparently this is the most popular one.

Today’s tigrés

In the Mood for Love

Today they had a special stollen tigré.

Tigre seoul

Buying a stollen at the end of the year seems to have turned into a custom, which is all fine, except the queues are just too long. Which is exactly why a place like Tigré Seoul, where you can order same-day and still get one, is so precious.

Pumpkin pie

Tigre seoul

The chef is good at what they do, so I trust anything that comes out of that kitchen.

Sweet potato tigré

Tigre seoul

This one was tasty too..

Stollen tigré

Tigre seoul

There is marzipan in it as well.

The inside

Tigre seoul

It really does taste like stollen.

I used to go all the time and ate a lot of good things there, but my health has not been great lately so I do not get to go as often.. First things first, I need to lose a bit more weight..
