These days, on nights when I’m drinking, I just leave the office early. Drinking early and getting to bed early is more efficient anyway.. This place is popular, but if I clock out before six I can eat at a leisurely pace.. Everyone else must be hard workers..

Fried dumplings

There’s a budae jjigae chain called Wanbaek Budae Jjigae. They have yaki gyoza on the side menu, and it’s a real treat. Bunsik-style dumplings, fried just right and packed full of filling. The budae jjigae itself is fairly ordinary, but who knew the yaki gyoza would be this good.. Perfect for when you’re short on something to nibble with your drink.

There’s a generous amount of clams, so it seems pretty good.

The half-and-half pizza at Pizza Iconic

The pepperoni pizza at Pizza Iconic is unbelievably good. The crust is crisp and goes really well with the salty pepperoni. They call it New York style, and it does make you feel like you’ve turned into a real New Yorker.. The problem is that this kind of pizza tastes best straight out of the oven, but this place is takeaway only. You’d want to live nearby, or else give it another pass in the oven.
