Jeojib, a Kimchi Jjigae Specialist in Deungchon-dong

A kimchi jjigae specialist I finally tried after Gimletjun said it was good.

Oh my..

Jeojib

Turns out they run the whole place by themselves..

The prices are fine. Now that I’ve been around this neighborhood, there are good places hiding all over the place — how does everyone find out about them, I wonder..

The table..

Kimchi jjigae

Jeojib

Best of all, it comes as a single serving.. I mean, kimchi jjigae tastes better a day after you make it than fresh off the stove, and this one was exactly that day-after kind of kimchi jjigae.. That is not an easy thing to pull off at home..

Then again, kimchi jjigae is good at home too. There’s no real need to go out for it, but still, going out like this and checking whether there’s a way to make your own kimchi jjigae tastier seems worth doing.. Oh, and the owner doesn’t come across as all that friendly, though I think that’s unavoidable when one person is running the entire place. It doesn’t bother me, but if you go in expecting otherwise it could be a problem..
