Just this and that, thrown together..
Japchae rice
It’s a Chinese place this neighborhood is known for, and it was decent enough.
Oyster pot rice
Dongtae-jjigae (pollock stew)
There used to be a famous dongtae-jjigae place around here, but it had closed down. So I went to a newly opened one instead, though the amount of pollock was a bit disappointing.
Sundubu-jjigae at Segwang Yangdaechang
Not bad value at all.
Altang (pollock roe soup)
Loaded with roe..
Shabu-shabu
Shabu-shabu must be having a moment; specialty places are popping up all over. This one was just so-so..
Busan Ajimae Gukbap
Worth eating every once in a while.
Master Lee Yeong-geun’s Traditional Mandu
Bought them on the strength of the “master” billing.. just so-so.. the skins were thin, so they kept splitting open..
Jjimdak
A bit spicy, but decent enough..
Nurungji
No, this is the real treat. Turns out the jjimdak wasn’t the main event.. and I end up overeating carbs, as usual..
