Pumasi Budae Jjigae in Yeonsinnae

There is a budae jjigae place in Yeonsinnae run by the family of someone I know, so I stopped by for a bit.

Budae jjigae like this

It was 8,000 won a head, which is outstanding value. Once you get out as far as Yeonsinnae, prices really do feel different from Gangnam..

The truth is there is no such thing as a bad budae jjigae in this world; the styles are just different. I am not the sort of person who feels much of a gap between the Songtan school and the Uijeongbu school, and this seemed plenty good to me. That said, some people may find the ham a little short, in which case you can always order extra.

The market right by Yeonsinnae is really good. I picked up some fruit and vegetables.

The budae jjigae I took home..

Pumasi budaechige

Since it is a place run by people I know, walking out with nothing felt wrong, so I got an order to go. They even throw in a packet of ramyeon sari on the side.. nice.. It tasted great at home too.
