It is not on Songnidan-gil itself but just nearby (you could probably call it the extended Songnidan-gil..), and I had heard there was a tea-centred dessert and bakery shop there called présent, so I went to see for myself.
The exterior
You have to look closely to work out whether this is the right place..
Bread
You can tell at a glance that the quality is good. There were plenty of people queueing, too.
A room like this
It all looks good.
The display
The baked sweets
Even at a glance, the financiers look like the thing to get..
The packaging
Pretty.
Today’s haul
Looks like I bought rather a lot..
Squid ink sausage jalapeño financier
The look of this thing is straight out of the Cthulhu Mythos, so there was no way I was not buying it.. As for the taste, well.. it has a slightly spicy sausage in it so it could stand in for a meal, but it is a financier, so it is sweet.. hmm.. it is a bit of an odd one.
Salt bread
Not bad at all, but there are so many great salt bread places around these days..
Financier
Hazelnut baci di dama chocolat
A sweet little finger snack. I was more curious about the plain version than the chocolate one, but they did not have it that day.
Almond tuile
As tea food, this is a superb little biscuit.
Overall it is a place operating at a high level. I am not much of a tea drinker myself, but I think I will have to pay it another visit sometime.
