Gimbapwang is a gimbap place in Gangnam. It sits right next to a club and runs 24 hours, so I wasn’t expecting much, but I dropped in one day and found they make pretty decent gimbap.
Tuna gimbap
The rice is on the light side and the filling is packed in. Exactly the style I like. And the burdock has a chewy bite that makes it. This one is hard to explain without tasting it.
Bulgogi gimbap
Not bad, but not on the level of the tuna one.
Ham gimbap
The basic gimbap is plenty tasty too.
Salmon gimbap
This one is good as well.
Flying fish roe gimbap
Hmm, a little on the fishy side..
Pork cutlet gimbap
The cutlet is weak.
Crab stick gimbap
Ordinary
Pickled chili gimbap
The chilies were too hot for me — not my thing.
Kimchi gimbap
An interesting flavor, but the lineup is short on protein..
Cheese gimbap
Short on protein as well..
Vegetable gimbap
Same here..
Chungmu gimbap
This one is a bit spicy. No real need to order it.. Anyway, that completes every gimbap on the menu..
In conclusion, the salmon and the tuna are the best and the rest were just okay. Still, this is easily good enough to hold its own against any famous gimbap shop. Who knew there was a place like this right nearby.
