There are days when I start hunting for good food first thing in the morning, but that’s only on a foodie group trip; normally I eat breakfast at the hotel and then head out. It leaves you with a lot more breathing room.
Yuba
Kyoto is the kind of place where you can have freshly made yuba even at breakfast.
Drinks are self-serve
The seating
It’s a big room, but there was hardly anyone in it. Covid, no doubt. Looked at another way, maybe getting to visit while it’s this quiet is a win.
The view out the window
A hall built to take tour groups, with only a handful of us scattered around it.
Umeboshi
Sour… but it does wake up your appetite.
Breakfast
The tray comes beautifully laid out. I got a solid meal in me before starting the sightseeing.
The kids’ tray
This one looks good too, and it even comes with dessert.
