Every now and then I get a craving for the gâteau basque from Maison d’Ahni. And since they open early in the morning, it’s an easy stop on the way to work.

Inside the gâteau basque

Crisp on the outside, sweet on the inside. Really good. A few gâteau basque specialists seem to have opened in Korea too, but I don’t think they’re this style.

Tigré

This tigré… I have no idea why there’s no chocolate inside. Anyway, the taste was just so-so, and this place really is all about the gâteau basque.
