Nichirei’s authentic stir-fried chahan
They say it’s the best-selling fried rice in Japan, and it really is the classic of the genre.. It’s good, so this is usually the only fried rice I buy.
The ultimate tofu, eaten with a spoon
There are plenty of unusual tofus about. This one was good too.
Corn soup
Things like this are tasty as well.
Yatsugatake Kogen yogurt
It’s nice that they sell yogurt by variety, too.
Egg tofu, somen style
These days there are more and more products that turn tofu into somen. You don’t have to do a thing — just pour on the sauce and eat it like noodles, which is very convenient.
Motsu nikomi
It looked like it had serious presence, so I bought it, but it wasn’t quite that..
Grape curry
I was surprised there really were grapes in it.. the taste was so-so.. I couldn’t tell whether it was a dessert or a meal.. I suppose with travel souvenirs you’re just glad if they’re edible..
Umekatsuo
An interesting side dish of plum, bonito and mountain vegetables. It’d go well with a drink too..
Tofu Noodle, sudachi cold-noodle soup
This is how it turns out..
The taste is a bit like kongguksu.. but the sudachi is really sour..
Tofu Noodle, cold-noodle flavour
Tofu somen
Tofu somen
Sapporo Tokeidai Shokudo
It’s a Sapporo shio ramen, and it’s decent enough.
Tofu
This one tastes good too.
It’s on the salty side, so it works as a side dish as well.
Zero-carb noodles
The range of tofu noodles is far wider than in Korea. I ate a lot of them for lunch.
