I’m going to be posting about seven months’ worth of these from here on.. There’s a long way to go, so I’ll keep the write-ups short.
Almond Choco Ball Mint
Mint chocolate seems to be all the rage lately.. In the end, I figure the items really worth eating are the ones still around after a year or so of waiting. This one, sadly, didn’t make the cut..
Ketchup Bokkeum-myeon stir-fried noodles
I was half expecting some unusual flavor along the lines of Napolitan.. but it’s ordinary..
Siwonhan Dukkeop Ramyun, the refreshing toad ramyun
I added some bean sprouts and cooked it in a pot, and it really did come out clean and refreshing.. Tasted like it would go well with soju too..
Samyang Bibim-myeon..
Not great either.. There’s honey in it so it is a bit sweet, but not enough to tone down how strong the heat is. Bibim-myeon, Paldo’s included, is fine as long as it isn’t spicy..
Gonghwachun Yusanseul Ramyun
If you don’t expect much from it, it’s perfectly edible..
Gochu Chip pepper chips..
I wondered whether it would taste like gochu twigim, battered fried peppers.. of course it doesn’t.. It is a bit spicy though..
Shin Ramyun Bokkeum-myeon
It’s a bit spicy, and I’m not a fan of spicy food..
Dongwon Gochu Chamchi Ramyun, chili tuna ramyun
I had a can of gochu chamchi at home, so I threw it in and cooked it in a pot, and it turned out pretty decent.. These days I tend to doctor up cup ramyun too.. that’s because convenience stores don’t really stock the new regular packet ramyun.. I’d like to try new things, but when the supermarket only sells them in five-packs it gets a bit awkward.. and if it flops you’re stuck with the rest..
