Samgeori Monjimak Sundaeguk is a well-known place that was designated a Seoul Future Heritage site. I visited on a bright, sunny day.
Nice weather
It was perfect weather for a walk.
Look at that sky..
Walking along, I spotted this sundaeguk place too.
It’s called Manyang Sundaeguk, and the atmosphere is straight out of a noir film.
This atmosphere..
This darkness..
Hard to believe there’s a place like this in central Seoul..
Sky..
Arrived.
It’s tucked away in a corner.
The spread
Sundaeguk
The sundae is the glass-noodle kind, and both the price and the taste are astonishing. Judging by the bottles of soju on most tables, I suspect this place makes its money on drinks rather than sundae.. and with side dishes this good, how could the drinks not go down easy?
What’s inside..
Who knew a bowl of sundaeguk could move me like this.. There’s a reason it was chosen as a Seoul Future Heritage site.
Hmm..
There’s a market nearby, so I dropped in, and on the way I came across this place. What on earth is “illegal consultation”?.. I honestly can’t figure it out.
Market scene..
They really sell a lot of dog meat..
Market scene
Lots of people.
