They make an easy meal, and there are so many quirky cup noodles out there that I end up eating them pretty regularly.
Sumire
It’s Seven Premium, but it’s just so-so…
The classic Nakamoto..
Good for a hangover..
Tsuta
It’s fancy, but the previous version felt a bit better..
Rich Uni Cream
Hmm.. it tastes fine.. but is that really uni? I do wonder..
Look at this..
The contents are pretty flashy, I’ll give it that…
Konjiki Hototogisu
The famous Shinjuku spot..
Can’t really compare it to the main shop, but..
The taste was decent..
Raoh’s Kogashi Shoyu (charred soy sauce) ramen
The visuals looked tough..
But in reality it wasn’t that intense..
Donbei Udon, endorsed by Riho Yoshioka
Hmm.. mentaiko-style ankake.. even at a glance it didn’t look tasty, but..
Well.. what does that matter..
It’s Riho Yoshioka, after all..
Ottogi Curry Noodle
My first microwave-only cup noodle; it seemed kind of novel, so I bought it.
Roughly this result..
Oh, but the chewiness of the noodles is better than what you get in a shop.. To think this kind of flavor is possible in a cup noodle.. makes me wonder what I’d been eating all this time.. But apparently, to microwave it, the container has to be specifically designed for the microwave.. Most existing cup noodles don’t seem to meet the standard. And you mustn’t forget to cover it with plastic wrap when you microwave it..
Shin Ramyun Black
Most microwave-ready cup noodles are from Ottogi, but Nongshim’s also get dramatically better when you microwave them.
Menya Itto
The cup ramen from Itto, the undisputed number one ramen shop in Tokyo..
It’s rich.
Highly recommended.
Saw this and bought it..
The ingredients are pretty flimsy..
Noodles, toppings, rice cakes.. every single one was half-hearted..
Cooking..
The fish cake I added myself as a custom touch.
The result..
The only upside might be that there’s enough liquid sauce to make a proper rabokki..
