Kyorakudo’s Hitotsubu no Muscat at Mitsukoshi

I heard they had an unusual dessert, so I stopped by while I was at Mitsukoshi anyway.

There’s a dessert made with muscat grapes

Hitotsubu muscat

At around 300 yen apiece, it’s on the pricey side.

Packaging like this..

Hitotsubu muscat

Very classy.

Samples

Hitotsubu muscat

Pricey, yes, but they’re incredibly generous with the samples.

They even handed me one of their newly released desserts..

Hitotsubu muscat

It felt like I’d eaten about 1,000 yen’s worth..

So I bought a box.

Hitotsubu muscat

They’re individually wrapped, so there aren’t as many inside as it looks..

Cross-section

Hitotsubu muscat

The sweetness of the muscat grape is concentrated in there. How can a dessert with such a long shelf life be this full of juice? It was every bit as delicious as it was expensive. Once again I was reminded of how deep the world of desserts is.
