Bongmilga near Gangnam-gu Office

It was a hot summer, so while I was at it I did a tour of naengmyeon places around Seoul. Bongmilga was one of them, since I’d heard its mandu were good.

Mandu

Oh… big ones, packed full of filling, and delicious.

Suyuk (boiled pork)

Bongmilga

I ordered it as a side to go with soju, and it came thinly sliced. It was fine by me, but if you’re someone who values a good chew, it might feel a little lacking.

Pan-fried mandu

Bongmilga

The mandu were so good that I ordered the pan-fried ones too, and they were great. Good stuff…

I was full, but there was no way I could skip the naengmyeon…

Naengmyeon

Bongmilga

The noodles have a high buckwheat content, the portion is generous, and the broth is rich. This neighborhood has more than a couple of naengmyeon places (Jinmi and so on…), so it took me a while to get here, but I wish I’d come sooner.

The noodles

I’ll have to drop by again when summer comes.

This is what it’s like inside…
